On behalf of the Graduate Hall Director and Community Assistant staff, I'd like to welcome you to Shippee Hall. This residential area provides a unique living experience. Shippee Hall is located across from Mirror Lake with some rooms offering a private bathroom. The Hall currently houses 296 residents, and the rooms are broken down to 145 doubles. Shippee is the home of the Honors Community for first-year students.

History

Shippee Hall was named after Lester E. Shippee who was a UConn Board of Trustees member from 1946-1959. Mr. Shippee was one of the five founders of the University of Connecticut Foundation, serving as its first president. Shippee hall was built in 1962.
